2017 was a great year for the LBA and we are looking forward to another greater year for 2018. God has done so much for us as an association. We had new opportunities and new ministries that God opened up for us. I am so excited about how versatile God has made the ministries of the LBA. We have domestic and international missions as well as missions right here in Laurens County. We have all sorts of ministries for families, from the Ministry centers to Families 4 Families to counseling to free Medical, Dental, and Eye Clinics. We have helped addiction recovery ministries, one for women (Mustard Seed) and one for men (Last Chance Ministry). We have F & F (Feed the Body, Feed the Soul) ministry that ministers to children and families of low income areas within our county. We have a chaplaincy ministry for the Dublin Police, the Firemen of Laurens County and the Laurens county Sheriff Department and 911 center. We also have College Classes that are fully Sacs accredited. We have seen God really use these classes. We have 2 that have graduated with a Degree and we have seen 9 of our students go into ministry now where God is using them in a mighty way.
I am excited to see what God is going to do in 2018. I pray we will be open to allow God to do more than we ever imagined. I am so thankful for all the people who volunteer and work to make the LBA all that it is and does. I am thankful for all of our Churches and their Ministers who support and partner with us and make our Association a great one.
If you are not involved with our association, we would love to have you work with us in any of our ministries. There are ministries for everyone to be involved in. Just give us a call at the LBA Office and we will get you set up. Don’t forget our new BPC college classes start the 2nd week in January. Please sign up.
I pray for you God’s blessings and a HAPPY NEW YEAR!
In His Service,
I hope that all of you had a great Thanksgiving! We all have so much to be thankful for to God! So often we don’t realize just how much we are blessed! There are literally hundreds of millions around the world that would swap places with us in a second and would not have to think twice about it. I hope that all of us will stop and count our blessings more and be willing to share what we do have more and allow God to use the blessings He has poured into our lives to do His Kingdom work. We need to stop and realize that one day we will stand before our Lord and give an account for how we used the blessings He has bestowed upon us. Remember the story of the master who gave his three servants the talents and how that story played out. Matthew 25:14-30
It is unreal that it is almost Christmas. I hope that all of our ministers will bring their families to our annual Ministers Christmas get together on December 7th. The social is at 6:00 pm at the LBA. This does include a meal and some fun activi-ties for the Children as well.
I hope that all of you will have a Merry Christmas that is Christ-filled! It is an amazing and exciting time of the year when we celebrate that greatest gift ever given. That is when God gave His Son to come to earth and dwell with us and then to ulti-mately pay the price for all of our sins by His death on the cross. But, praise God He didn’t stay there but now rules and reigns as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He is our awesome and wonderful Savior! Let’s truly worship Him not only during this season but every day of our life.
What a Wonderful Savior we Serve!!!
In His Service,
I am thankful for the great crowd we had at our Annual meeting at Dudley Baptist Church on October 15th. It was an awesome meeting. I would like to thank Dudley Baptist and all of its staff for allowing us to meet there and all the help they gave. I also am thankful for all those that helped with the flag presentation. Those 67 flags represent areas that we have done mission work or still doing mission work in the LBA. I pray that we as an association will continue to be faithful to the Great Commission given to us by Jesus Christ. In fact, I will be leaving soon with others to investigate a new Church plant in Maine to see if we can send teams there to help them do the work of the Kingdom in their area. I don’t know for sure at this time how many bags we collected for the children in Haiti. I know that there was well over 500. I will let you know for sure as soon as I find out.
We also are doing another mission trip to Clintwood and Trammel Virginia. We will be doing construction work on the church at Trammel and doing a Fall Festival at Trammel. Please keep this church in your prayers that God will continue to revitalize this church to be used in that community to carry out the Great Commission in their area. God is working there, and I hope that He will continue to work there and use this Church to reach the loss with the Gospel.
We will be sending out our schedule for Mission Trips for 2018 shortly. Make sure that you look at them and pray about it and see what God would have you to do.
In His Service,
