We will be going back up in December to carry the 750 backpacks to Bluefield, West Virginia. We will be working some construction at the Wade Center for Youth and the Union Mission Ministry. We will be helping with the feeding of the homeless 3 times a day. The Union Mission feeds about 200 each meal. We will also have a party and fun time for the children and then pass out the backpacks to all the children. I will never forget the boy last year that opened his backpack and the first thing he pulled out was a can of Campbell’s soup. He was so excited because this was his favorite soup. Needless to say, the youth that was with us was stunned! He was that excited about getting a can of soup for Christmas! I guess it has to do with perspective. This little boy and his canned soup really spoke to our youth about all they have and how they are not thankful enough. This little boy is a reminder to all of us that we should be a lot more thankful for all God has blessed us with!
Please pray for this trip and the kids and families that these back-packs will touch.
In His Service,
